What Makes the Cosmelan Treatment Unique?
The Cosmelan Peel is a revolutionary formula made of a mixture of effective and powerful ingredients that are designed to treat and prevent different variations of skin discoloration and hyperpigmentation.
The Cosmelan Peel DECREASES NATURAL MELANIN PRODUCTION by inhibiting an enzyme called Tyrosinase, responsible for melanin production.
Some of the main actives in this formula are Azelaic Acid, which kills bacteria on the surface of the skin and boosts new skin cell production; and Kojic Acid, which is an acid that is derived from several different types of naturally-existing fungi and which inhibits the production of melanin in the skin.
By slowing the melanin production, dark spots and uneven skin tone dramatically fades leaving the skin much brighter and tighter looking with natural even tone glow.

As the Cosmelan Peel Treatment doesn’t involve the use of hydroquinone, it is SUITABLE FOR ALL SKIN TYPES. Potential side effects are reduced to relatively minor redness and peeling, which typically subsides within 3 to 5 days.

What does the Cosmelan treatment involve?
The first step is getting an in-depth consultation to explain the process and provide products to prep the skin prior to treatment. One week prior to the main procedure we may perform a prep peel. This will prepare the skin for the treatment removing any dead skin cells and hydrating the skin, allowing the Cosmelan to work deeper within the skin.
Cosmelan consists of an in-clinic treatment mask followed by a long-term homecare program that effectively acts on all phases of the hyperpigmentation process, ideally at least 9 months 1 year.
Cosmelan 1
The Cosmelan 1 is the professional treatment mask that is applied by a skin professional in-clinic preferably in the morning as it should be left on for a period of between 8-12 hours depending on the client’s Fitzpatrick score, skin type, and form of hyperpigmentation.
Cosmelan 2
The Cosmelan 2 should then be used by the client at home. This process is started 48 hours after the in-clinic mask treatment and is recommended to be used three times daily in the first week, followed by twice-daily afterwards, until the 3rd month, and once in the evening in the 4th month onwards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Results can be seen in as little as two weeks but can continue to improve with the best results being seen between 30- 60 days following treatment.
Two to three days after the treatment is applied, the skin will begin to flake and peel. For these first few days, the face may feel tight, itch, and be slightly red. It is possible to continue to peel for a couple of weeks post-treatment but this is rare.
Cosmelan can be also be used on the body, most commonly used on the back, shoulders, arms décolletage, and hands, as these are areas that commonly experience hyperpigmentation.
The homecare process of Cosmelan 2 maintenance cream is continued to regulate the melanocytes to stop producing the same abnormal production of melanin and continue this regulation production by itself as the skin creates a memory If this is not followed for this amount of time the hyperpigmentation will most likely return as the melanocyte will start producing the same hyperpigmentation.
Any products containing Vitamin C or Retinols (Vitamin A derivative) should be avoided throughout the treatment. These ingredients will be too stimulating for the skin as the Cosmelan does already contain them. Complete aftercare will be discussed with you during your consultation.
During the Cosmelan Treatment, no other procedures should be performed.

Meet Rana Andriya, head aesthetician and owner of Laserlicious, a medical spa located in heart of the GTA. With over fifteen years of experience, Rana has and continues to provide the latest and greatest services for all her clients.
Coming from humble beginnings, she started working at various educational schools providing superior service and results for all her clients. By being a mentor and teacher, it gave the experience and knowledge for Rana to further succeed in her career. With all the knowledge she has accumulated; she ventured on her own with one room giving laser hair removal and skin treatments for her clients. After several years of being a one-woman show, she made the bold move and expanded to a larger location under the new name Laserlicious. Within months of the opening she saw the business flourish with new clients and staff.
Creating a space where people can get quality treatments, excellent results and also feel like the clients are being taken care of has always been Rana’s top priority; not just as an aesthetician but as a successful business owner.
